He advanced to managing partner in 2004. His background is impressive. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkley, and was awarded a PhD in Chemistry from MIT. At present, his patents total more than 30. In addition, Dr. Rocklage has more than 100 publications reviewed by peers.
Dr. Rocklage has a solid background in health management as well. Having served as Chairman and CEO of Cubist Pharmaceuticals and President of Nycomed Salutar, Dr. Rocklage understands what it takes to head up a successful operation. His achievements also include serving as Board Chairman of Relypsa, Rennovia, Kinestral, and Cidara. He also has three new drug applications approved by the FDA.
Once a person lays a foundation of education and experience, it makes it far easier to strive for excellence. He offers advice to those with the spirit of an entrepreneur. “Never be afraid of taking risks.” He advises that a person can always advance further in life when they own an enterprise as opposed to working for an established company.
